SRM Prime Hospital, Ramapuram, launched the SRM Prime Institute of Gastrointestinal and Liver Diseases, featuring South India’s most advanced endoscopy unit designed to provide comprehensive gastroenterology services and precision-driven digestive care for patients across all age groups.
The institute was inaugurated by renowned Tamil actor and director R. Parthiban in the presence of Mr. P. Siva, Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Arulprakash, Clinical Lead & Senior Consultant – Gastroenterology and Hepatology, and Dr. Tharun J George, Senior Consultant – Gastroenterology and Hepatology, SRM Prime Hospital.
The newly launched institute is equipped with next-generation technologies including the Arietta 750 and EP-8000 endoscopic ultrasound systems integrated with the Olympus X1 platform, enabling high-resolution imaging and precision-guided minimally invasive procedures for gastrointestinal and liver diseases.
The institute also features the Slim Therapeutic Endoscope EG-840TP, enhancing procedural manoeuvrability for accurate diagnosis, advanced therapeutic procedures, and faster patient recovery.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. P. Siva said that SRM Prime Hospital’s vision is to provide comprehensive digestive care under one roof by combining advanced technology with a highly skilled team of gastroenterologists and trained nursing professionals. He added that the institute strengthens the hospital’s position as a centre of excellence in gastroenterology, offering advanced imaging, minimally invasive procedures, and 24/7 emergency gastrointestinal care.
Dr. Arulprakash stated that the institute provides complete gastroenterology and liver care covering diseases related to the esophagus, stomach, intestine, gallbladder, pancreas, and liver. He further highlighted that the advanced endoscopic ultrasound system — the first of its kind in Tamil Nadu — enables detailed imaging and targeted interventions for complex pancreatic and biliary disorders.
