What is Premature Baby Care ?

Premature babies are infants that are born about 3 weeks before their estimated due date. Another way of putting it would be a baby that is born before the start of the 37th week of pregnancy. Premature birth is dangerous for the infant as the baby has not been given the time in the mother’s womb that he/she needs to develop fully. Premature babies, especially those that are born very early, usually suffer from medical complications such as apnoea, respiratory stress disorder, jaundice, anaemia, etc. Clinical care is recommended upon premature birth.

Pre Pregnancy Counselling

Having a safe, healthy and happy pregnancy begins well before you have a positive result on a test. Caring for your health before you become pregnant helps you prepare for a pregnancy. Preconception counseling is a visit with us where you discuss many aspects of pregnancy and plan for a healthy pregnancy.

Hysteroscopic Procedures

Diagnostic hysteroscopy is used to diagnose problems of the uterus. Diagnostic hysteroscopy is also used to confirm results of other tests, such as hysterosalpingography (HSG). HSG is an X-ray dye test used to check the uterus and fallopian tubes. Operative hysteroscopy is used to correct an abnormal condition that has been detected during a diagnostic hysteroscopy.

Hysterectomy

A hysterectomy is the surgical removal of the uterus, and most likely, the cervix. Depending on the reason for the surgery, a hysterectomy may involve removing surrounding organs and tissues, such as the fallopian tubes and ovaries. The uterus is where a baby grows during pregnancy. It’s lining is the blood you shed during your menstrual period. You lose the ability to get pregnant and you will not get your period after a hysterectomy.
